'Create a fresh start'

For over a decade, I worked with hundreds of Māori and Pasifika whanau 1:1 in their homes,  supporting them in the nurturing of their baby's growth and brain development.  It was rewarding and fulfilling to be a part of this work and in a small way, part of their lives.

They wanted to know if they were doing things right.  Isn't that what we all want to know?  Many shared their

In so many ways, their stories were mine.

- Sadelle Harris

  •  I came into motherhood at 18
  • I thought I had it sorted
  • But I really didn't have a clue
  • I was isolated, alone and unsure
  • Why didn't anyone tell me being a mum was so hard
  • of course I never told anyone
  • I looked at other mums and saw that had it altogether
  • Except me
  • I had dreams of buying our first home- people told me it was a waste of time, that it was easier to stay where we were
  • I was young, frustrated and quite naive
  • I felt 'stuck'

I looked at other mums and saw they had it all together - except me

Designed for Joy....

I was crying at the kitchen sink one day, totally overcome with fear and anxiety. I felt powerless, confused and so alone. When I heard a quiet but very clear voice say,

“I didn’t design you to cry at the kitchen sink. I designed you that you might have joy.” I knew it was of God.

I thought, “God’s right, he doesn’t want me crying in misery. I was designed for joy. Instantly, I felt joy, sweep over me. I felt free and 10 litres lighter. Lol.

Those ‘kitchen sink’ thoughts, I had been thinking and believing were lies that had been weighing me down and I had become a victim of my own story.

As a certified Life Coach, the self-coaching and thought management tools I teach are transformative and work elegantly in our favour . They help us see that we have a choice in every given moment. I know that love can be breathed back into spaces where fear once ruled, and confidence where self-doubt once laid anchor.

I was reminded of my God- given gifts and potential, and that I can have joy, even amidst chaos. This path of conscious thinking and personal development has and continues to help me in every aspect of my life and inspires me to help others, just like you.

If I am designed for ‘joy’, that means you are too!
